NUEVO VALLARTA ON THE MEXICAN PACIFIC COAST
NUEVO VALLARTA is 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta and over the past 15 years has grown into destination on its own. Before 1990 there were relatively few resorts and only a smattering of shops and restaurants.
Today there are many 4 and 5 star resorts, three beautiful golf courses, great restaurants and beautiful shops. Along the beaches you can book fishing charters, party charters, local tours, horse back tours, and any day trip or evening event you choose.
There is a new walkway being developed that will include resorts, boutique hotels, shops and restaurants, so if you choose not go into Puerto Vallarta, you can find everything you might need or want in Nuevo.
The Marina area is between Nuevo Vallarta and downtown Vallarta. Besides the fabulous yaughts, and sailboats, there are hotels, shops and restaurants which make a wonderful day trip.
If you want to go into Puerto Vallarta, there is a bus outside the Mayan Sea Garden Resort for 12 pesos ($l.20), or a cab is 160 pesos ($16.00). All the cabs in Puerto Vallarta are flat rates, so be sure you know what the fare is before get in.
Paradise Plaza is just outside of Paradise Village resorts and has a wonderful grocery store, several local restaurants, fast food restaurants, and great shops for apparel, silver, shoes, and an internet café.
